United Smile is a non-profit organization founded by the three German dentists Sebastian Köppert, Jens Dauben and Robin Fernández. The three of them wanted to continue their extracurricular work after they first visited Nepal in February 2017, then still dental students, where they headed to remote places providing dental check-ups and treatment. After they founded their own organization in November 2017, they came back to Nepal in August 2018, now as fully trained dentists, for the first time now under the patronage of their own organization, to continue helping particularly less fortunate people from more rural areas who lack medical treatment attention. They want to provide free dental check-ups and therapy, if needed, supply everyone with free toothbrushes, toothpastes and brushing demonstrations, therefore ensuring there’s a basic understanding of oral hygiene, above all in the younger generation, and show how important and easy it is to eradicate preventable diseases. Their aim is to send a group of dentists twice a year to facilitate dental treatment in Nepal.
